When Your Piano Students Stop Having Fun…with Nicola Cantan

This week, I was joined by Nicola Cantan, a piano teacher, blogger and author who creates teaching resources for music teachers everywhere. She has been teaching piano since 2005, and currently runs a piano studio in Dublin, Ireland, Colourful Keys.

We enjoyed getting to talk about some of the joys(and the less-pleasant parts) of being a piano teacher. Throughout this pandemic, we have seen many changes, some of which are oh-so apparent in our music lessons. They lose focus, get bored and upset easier, and have a harder time staying motivated. In this episode, we talk about how to fight some of those problems to get your students back on track to their best selves!
