Hi Teachers! I’m Carly Walton and this is the Teach Music Online Podcast

Today I wanted to re-encourage you and remind you of what a privilege and amazing opportunity it is to be an online music teacher. It’s so interesting looking back and thinking about the opinion of online teaching 2 years ago. At the start of 2020, when online teaching was a rare and uncommon occurrence, I had already launched my first course and had a few hundred teachers interested. It was so exciting for me to share these ideas and skills with those teachers then! Fast forward two years and almost every piano teacher on the planet has now had experience with online lessons. Never ever did we think this would be the case!

Some of you may be weighing your options with in-person lessons or online lessons. Maybe you have persistent parents who want you to come back to teaching in-person but you are pushing back because you love the online lesson experience!

Well today I hope to remind you that online lessons are absolutely the future of music education and it can be your full-time job. There are so many benefits for the teachers and the students but YOU are number one and I want you to create your dream job and dream reality for your future in teaching music.

Okay, so here are 10 reasons why you should only teach music online.

  1. Teach a global audience

  2. Charge what you want to charge

  3. No need for a physical studio location - PRIVACY

  4. Flexibility to teach from anywhere

  5. Never lose a student again - you'll never have to start over

  6. Engaging tools that make online learning BETTER than in-person lessons

  7. Convenience for the student and parent

  8. Avoid illness

  9. Teach in whatever weather

  10. Save money on studio costs, gas, and materials

I’m sure we could add to this list and it’s just so thrilling to me that now you see the benefits of online lessons after having done them for the last couple of years.

If you have NOT seen the benefits or you are still struggling with online lessons please go and watch my free webinar on my website! In that class, I help you overcome some of the biggest challenges music teachers face with pivoting to online lessons.
